Cook Islands Weather

South Pacific Weather Satellite Map and Loop

The Cook Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean south of the equator. As such they enjoy the weather and climate of a tropical oceanic region. There is little variation in the high temperature throughout the year, and has high humidity. The daily range of temperature is also minimal, being only about 5 C (10o F).

Most of the annual rainfall occurs in the hottest time of the year ('summer'), i.e. between November and March. Cyclones do occur occasionally though are less frequent than in the western region of the South Pacific. Usually rainfall will occur in the late afternoon and evening, with sunny weather at other times. Occasional periods of rainy weather lasting a day or more can occur, though this is less common.
